AgroKultura Korfowe: some words of history
AGROKULTURA
KORFOWE is wonderfully located in the heart of Poland, on the
premises of a 20 hectares family farm bordering to 38 thousand
hectares of the Kampinos National Park.
The farm was built in 1926 by our grand grandparents and has ever since
been our family property. Until we took it over in 1989 it was a typical small
self-supporting Polish farm but already known at that time for its hospitality
and nice atmosphere.
Agritourism
AgroKultura Korfowe today
In
1989, the farm land that had produced potatoes, grain and strawberries for so
many years, was transformed into spacious paddocks and pastures for horses. In
1991, we started "Korfowe
Arabians", which after hard work soon became the largest, most popular
and successful private Arabian horse stud in Poland. Dekor,
the first privately bred and owned Polish Derby winner (1996) grew up and was
trained here at our "Racing
Stable Korfowe", and had his spectacular wins for us at the Warsaw Race
Track. Here also his first foals were born. Korfowe was the home of many famous
horses, many of which have in the meantime found other homes all over the world.
In 2001 our horses became "TV stars". Korfowe features in the trailer
of the Polish TV series "Adam
and Eva", which was shot at our farm in autumn 2001.
But
Korfowe was not only about breeding and training of Arabian horses.
The place
has also become the favourite meeting and working place of some of the best Polish
artists, especially those who had a good eye for horses and landscapes. Since
1998 we have organised a series of artistic
plein-airs with the participation of many famous painters, sculptors and photographers
from Poland. After a short brake we came back to the traditions in 2006 and re-opened
Korfowe for plein-airs participants.
Unfortunately
we were not able to continue the breeding of Arabian horses. Since 2001 Korfowe
Arabians does not exist any more. But the farm still is a true meeting place for
horse breeders and horse lovers from Poland and abroad. Since then we have welcomed
many other guests. We transformed our stables into comfortable and spacious guest
and meeting rooms. The paddocks are now playgrounds.
May
2005 dates the beginning of "AgroKultura Korfowe". Since then we have
hosted increasing numbers of satisfied guests, individuals, families, small and
very large groups. We are sure that this number will further grow from day-to-day
since we are continuously expanding our services and attractions and we know that
what we offer is something special.
